The birthplace of the legendary Salars - Camel Springs. Profile picture
As a literary style that can concentrate on the rich social life and express human emotions, poetry grows rapidly in the land of multi-ethnic and multicultural blending in Qinghai. The unique cultural background of the plateau nourishes the poets of various nationalities and enables them to sing their own nation and homeland in the name of poetry. When we follow the footsteps of poetry to observe the plateau of Qinghai, we find that poetry here contains a large capacity that contains the cultural characteristics of Han, Tibet, Tu, and Salar.
For the Salars with a great history of migration, the history of their nationality is actually a history of finding a home. According to legend, more than 700 years ago, the Salar ancestors, the ancestors, and the Afghan brothers led the tribes from Central Asia. Samarkand was forced to migrate eastward. After a long road of trekking and exploration, they finally found themselves on the banks of the Yellow River in the Qinghai Highlands. The home of the sanctuary has established a new home.
The unique endowments and temperament formed by the Salars in the process of searching for regenerative homes are not only the inexhaustible spiritual resources of the nation, but also the spiritual core of the Salar literature. Therefore, in the history of the development of Salar literature, there are many poets with poetic dreams. They inherit the memory of generations of generations and sculpt the memory into a spiritual epic of a nation.
Known as the "first person of the Salar literature", Qiufu, after experiencing the great joys and sorrows of life and the impact of Western modern thoughts, returned again and became the watchmen of the Salar spiritual homeland. In 1994, his group poem "Towards the Labyrinth" was composed of "The Song of the Combination - The Labyrinth Symbol". "Plate Image - Somewhere Terrain Abstraction", "Red Covered Mountain", "Dongfu Landscape - Magical Induction", "The Form of Heaven" Waiting for 9 poems. The group poems show the blending of contemporary Chinese and Western cultures with a grand image, but the inner cultural foundation of the poet determines his calm attitude towards foreign culture. In the "Reprinted Lands - The Last Indication", he wrote: "I no longer confused the mission of the ancestors' eastbound and created a heavenly model without verification. Sitting around the warmth of the sheep dung The quietness / ..." Obviously, the poet's sense of root-seeking is strong, and in the comparison of Chinese and Western cultures, in the open situation, obsessed with the pursuit of their own national culture, and actively conceived the form of oriental culture.
Perhaps influenced by the beliefs of the nation, perhaps as Qiufu said is the genetics, this watch on the spiritual home also appeared in the younger Salar poets. Following the footsteps of the older generation of poets, Martin, Ardiff Wing and Han Wende have also become contemporary poets in the Salars who use poetry to climb life and find cultural roots.
Martin's poems are named "The Recital and Elegy of the Homeland", which shows that "Homeland" is the theme of his creation. The meaning of "homeland" is carried out in two dimensions in the works: one is the real area of the "Salar" on the bank of the Yellow River in Qinghai, and the other is the nation formed by the great migration experience of "Salal" in history. The spiritual residence of blood, temperament and endowment. "His writing with the help of the history and culture of the Salars and the resources of real life forms is not only the instinctive identity of the national sentiment, but also a rational choice, a conscious choice for finding the basal point of Archimedes for his soul." Critic Sugawara said, "From another point of view, the spiritual home of the Salars is not the impact of the Camel Spring on the banks of the Yellow River. It is not the ancestral city of Samarkand, but that time. The long-distance migration path with regenerative nature is the Slatian Golden Bridge from the disaster to the paradise in the tribes of the tribes. This is a journey initiated by the Salar men, which reshapes The spirit and soul of the Salars. This is Martin’s other home..."
The two-year long poem "The Journey of the Holy Land in the Eastern Highlands", which was created by Martin for two years, was forced from Salar to bid farewell to the Samarkand city state of Central Asia where his ancestors lived, and to look at the eastern highlands in the collective. Then the journey of the migration of the Upper Clan began, until the tragedy and search of the nine deaths of the "heads for the head", found their reborn in the Camel Springs on the banks of the Yellow River, in "the voice of men" The twilight of the prayers, the twilight of the armpits, and the twilight of the carnival are coming to an end. Finally, the poet has meaningfully opened such a scene: "And outside the crowd of carnival / the saints alone on the mound / ... / the moon rises, the sacred as holy / water / philosopher rises, such as Flower buds / mysterious blooms / like seeds / ding when landing."
The saints who are alone on the mounds, retrospectively looking at the road of this migratory tribe, instilled their concern for the source of their nationality, their meditation on the road to regeneration, and their understanding of the power of God. The three important elements also constitute the collective psychological dimension of the Salar men. The long poem "May" and "The eulogy and elegy of life" show Martin's more open mind as a poet. He promoted the poetry from the recollection and gaze of his own history and reality to the realm of human universal emotion and the realm of human life itself.
The long poem "The Shipwreck" of the poet Ardiff Wings 988, "I know a river / this is the Yellow River / this is the eternal memory of the Salar / the river / and the distant sound / ... / the sky at the moment The plains of the wilderness are quiet/late winter, and the tears of the river are flowing in the hills. The direction of the people is still the direction of the river..." Explaining a Salar hero who pursued his life in pursuit of his ideals. He drove a ship from ancient times. A nation has experienced hardships and obstacles and finally gained a bright future. This poem has a strong sense of root-seeking and humanistic feelings, and it contains a unique realism spirit.
Another young Salar poet, Han Wende, wrote in his more than 500 long poems, "The Flames of the Flames,": "Which white horse is wearing a fiery red glow? Which big hand is flashing black? The light / give back the brightest white sails to us / ... / make all the hearts filled with flowers / make this shore or the other shore filled with waves of swear words / faint moments / is the other world that lifted the shoulders /... "In the fifth chapter of "Sorrowful Song", I wrote: "In fact, we seem to have walked through this sunken road / roadside stone and weeping grass leaves / dancers and singers who make the light as clouds Touched / gently answered the fear of the soul / I stood straight on this road but I feel empty / I seem to have lost something / ... / Where to finally go / knees and the eyes of the old man / shock The bronze sound of Haoyu/Answer: You should be at home with yourself."
In Han Wende's poems, we also saw a lot of writing about the Yellow River of the life home: "The world is far away / only me and the Yellow River / lovers like a pair of kisses" "The blood of the Yellow River is my blood / the call of the Yellow River It’s my call. “Let’s lean over this river/I can’t say anything/a stone’s squatting posture is deep.” “I grew up in the Yellow River and knew it but it took a lifetime/I found myself for the first time. The heart is full of waves. I believe that I am also very deep for the first time. I am struck by the heart of the Yellow River. I will hit the Yellow River with a heart that loves you. You will mature a lot / you will be a lot stranger." He completed the beauty of his homeland with the image of the Yellow River, and also made readers remember that in the plateau valley, there is a ethnic group closely related to the Yellow River - the Salar.
Along the way, on the road of poetry, Han Wende has been able to navigate from the original small test knives to the grand narrative of the epic theme. We have seen that the national poet has found the home of his own and his homeland in the territory of poetry. Poetry is the home of his soul, and the Yellow River is the home of his life with the Salars. In many epic national narratives, he has revealed the rich psychological characteristics and national character of the Salars from different aspects, so that more people understand the deep feelings and awe of this nation for nourishing their Yellow River.
Han Wende's "Prayer of Ramadan" continues his long poetry style. This 600-plus-word poem is shocking: "Human, how can you hold your dreams in your hand?" ?/ How can you shape yourself into a golden body? / How can you call the wind and rain? How can you open up the sky? / Time in front: Everything is just a night of dust." When poets choose poetry, they choose the way and means of understanding the world and dialogue with the world at the pure height of spiritual culture. The continuous exploration and exploration in the field of poetry has turned Han Wende's poetry from the original homeland to a kind of introspection and questioning of the soul, which makes people feel the tenacity of the Salar nation and also feels a greatness from the whole humanity.
It is this recollection of national history and the re-construction of historical memory that has made the Salar poetry always have a grand narrative construction, and has a strong humanistic feelings, coming from history and staying in history. . From Qiufu, Martin, Ardiff Wings to Han Wende, these Salar poets use their homeland as their poetry background, and in their infinite charm and imagination, they express their national sorrow and beauty with unique expression. It is the infiltration and infiltration of this unique national cultural background that makes the Salar poets present a collective poetic writing of their own culture. In the grand historical construction, these verses show the strong pride and mission of the whole nation, thus forming the unique personality and atmosphere of the Salar literature.

Preamble: Cooperation or betrayal is the plight of famed prisoner's dilemma now facing China and the United States. Although cooperation is in the best interests of both parties, rational calculations and human selfish nature will make them choose to betray. The prisoner's dilemma clearly proves that in a non-zero sum game, cleverness is stupidity, and Pareto optimality and Nash equilibrium are incompatible.
The Sino-US trade war began, and its outcome depends on the game between two sides. The best outcome is that both sides adopt a tit-for-tat strategy, and base their likeness with undue stress to construct a win-win cooperation. The worst outcome might be that both sides recognize that the opposing side is aided by a devilish contempt, and finally all hell break loose, and they both become the devil seeing from the other side.

Nio hopes to raise up to $1.5 billion, making it the fourth largest IPO in the U.S. this year
Nio Inc., a Shanghai-based electric-car maker, has filed for an initial public offering, hoping to raise money for an expansion that includes launching a smaller electric SUV to broaden its customer base.
Nio earlier in August filed to offer about $1.8 billion worth of American depositary shares. According to an amended filing Tuesday, the company set the terms of its IPO, seeking to sell 160 million shares between $6.25 and $8.25 per American depositary share to raise up to $1.52 billion, if an option to sell more shares is exercised.
If Nio succeeds in raising that sum, it would mark the fourth largest U.S. IPO this year, behind Axa Equitable Holdings' (EQH) $3.16 billion, PagSeguro Digital's (PAGS) $2.6 billion, and iQIYI Inc.'s (IQ) $2.4 billion.
The company expects to list its ADS on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol NIO, and Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan are among the underwriters.
Entities affiliated with Chinese technology conglomerate Tencent Holdings Ltd. (0700.HK) have a 15% stake in Nio, and those affiliated with investment powerhouse Hillhouse Capital another 7.5%, according to the company's prospectus. Founder and Chief Executive Bin Li holds a 17% stake.
The company will compete with Tesla Inc. (TSLA) in the luxury electric-car market, and mentioned the potential U.S. rival 13 times in its prospectus.
Here are five things to know about Nio ahead of its IPO:
Its name means 'blue sky coming'
Nio's Chinese name, Weilai, translates as "blue sky coming." Li founded the company in 2014, then named NextCar Inc. It changed its name to Nio three years later.
Nio first introduced a "super car," the EP9, in 2016. It launched its first volume-produced car, the ES8, in December 2017, with deliveries starting in June of this year.
The ES8 is a 7-seater all-aluminum body electric SUV that the company boasts is cheaper in China than Tesla's Model X.
"Currently we believe no premium BEV is available to Chinese consumers at competitive pricing and the ES8 is expected to face limited competition initially from premium BEVs," NIO said in the prospectus.
As of the end of July, Nio had delivered 481 ES8s and had unfulfilled reservations for more than 17,000 ES8s with deposits, according to the prospectus.
Nio plans to launch its second vehicle, the ES6, by the end of 2018, and start deliveries in the first half of next year. The ES6 is a 5-seater, "high-performance premium electric SUV, set at a lower price point than the ES8 to target a broader customer base," NIO said in the filing.
Nio had a fairly standard warning about the ES6 in the filing, saying it "may not successfully develop the ES6. Our vehicles may not meet customer expectations and our future models, including the ES6, may not be commercially viable."
No revenue until this year
Nio has more in common with Tesla than ambition: it also has lost massive amounts of money and burned through piles of cash -- part of the reason it plans to go public.
"We have negative cash flows from operation, have only recently started to generate revenues and have not been profitable, all of which may continue in the future," it warned.
Nio began showing revenue this year, reporting $6.7 million in vehicle sales and $7 million in total revenue for the first six months of 2018, when net losses topped $502 million. The company reported a net loss of $758.8 million for all of 2017.
Through June, Nio had burned through $549 million in cash to operate, compared with $691 million for all of 2017. Capital expenditures hit $163 million in the first six months of this year, compared with $168 million for all of last year.
The company estimates that its capital expenditures for the next three years will reach about $1.8 billion. That includes money for improvements and installation of equipment at a plant in Shanghai, as well as for research and development and the expansion of its sales and service network. It expects to incur about $600 million of that in the 12 months starting July 2018.
Nio's total borrowings, as of June, reached $189.9 million, mainly bank loans and a loan from its investors, said the prospectus.
'Limited experience' in making cars
There is no dearth of risks listed in Nio's prospectus, and such risks are familiar to anyone who has spent any time reading about Tesla: "Our ability to develop and manufacture a car of sufficient quality and appeal to customers on schedule and on a large scale is unproven and still evolving," it said of risks relating to business.
Nio admits it has "limited experience" so far in high-volume manufacturing of electric vehicles.
"We cannot assure you that we will be able to develop efficient, automated, cost-efficient manufacturing capability and processes, and reliable sources of component supply that will enable us to meet the quality, price, engineering, design and production standards, as well as the production volumes required to successfully mass market the ES8 and future vehicles," it said.
Then there are the suppliers. The ES8 uses more than 1,700 purchased parts which Nio buys from more than 160 suppliers. Many of those are single-source suppliers for these components, and the company is expecting that this will be similar for the ES6 and any other future vehicle it may produce.
"The supply chain exposes us to multiple potential sources of delivery failure or component shortages," says the prospectus.
The company is also highly dependent on government incentives and policies that are favorable for electric vehicles.
Its business could be affected by trade wars
Nio said its business could be "adversely affected" by trade tariffs or other trade barriers, including U.S. tariffs imposed in March on steel and aluminum and additional tariffs targeting Chinese goods.
Nio does not export any products to the U.S. and it is not yet clear what impact these tariffs could have. It intends to sell its cars only in China at least in the near future, but tariffs could potentially impact raw-material prices, it said.
Unusual--and risky--corporate structure
Like many Chinese companies with listings outside of China, Nio is a variable-interest entity, or VIE, a structure created in the 1990s as a workaround for Chinese companies that are not allowed to have direct foreign ownership.
Under the VIE structure, the Chinese company creates two entities, one in China that holds the permits and licenses needed to do business there and the other an offshore entity, in this case in the Cayman Islands, in which foreign investors can buy shares. The Chinese entity, which is usually owned by top executives, pays fees and royalties to the offshore company in contractual arrangements.
The biggest example of a VIE is Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., in which the Chinese entity is wholly owned by its founder and chairman, Jack Ma.
The risk with this setup is that foreign investors don't actually own stock in the company, and local management or even the Chinese government could decide or force a split with the listed company, leaving U.S. investors high and dry.
"It is uncertain whether any new PRC laws or regulations relating to variable interest entity structures will be adopted or if adopted, what they would provide," the company warns in its prospectus.
As an "emerging growth" company, Nio has to follow fewer reporting and other requirements.

Sally Schuman翻译 ( presumably from René Viénet’s preface, originally written in French?)

Imagine if artists were not paid for every internet 'radio' broadcast of their music. That might sound a bad thing for musicians but when you break out of the current music world assumptions that isn't neccessarily a bad thing for the musician or the radio station.
Currently the royalty system reflects a historical state of the industry along with certain goals of efficiency and prevention of monopoly abuse (and copyright is a monopoly). The royalty system in place serves to prevent labels exercising tight control over what may be played and to get money to the label and the artists for each play.
This makes an interesting assumption. It assumes that the radio station gains through this transaction and the artist does not, or gains less. For a small artist I question that assumption. Does the artist gain as much from the radio play as advertising as the radio station does from playing the work ? Is it in fact perhaps fair to say that both the artist and the radio station are paying a media company for the priviledge of advertising a work ?
As a musician why would you want to lose radio royalties? Let us consider a case where a new order of things might make sense. In order to drive sales of an album there are several conditions you want to meet
That the work is available
That you know how to obtain the work
That you know you like or think you would like the work sufficiently to pay the cost (including time and effort).
That the work is not (legally) available for free.
The big challenges to any small band are 2 and 3.
The chances are you don't know who bands like "Madra Rua" or "Show of Hands" are. You've probably never heard their music either. To drive sales many of these bands already offer tracks or clips on their web site. You didn't know they existed or had a website until I told you about them.
As an artist you probably don't want someone downloading your entire albums - although some bands do this for older albums nowdays. The clips and some tracks approach used by web sites works well as is obvious by its continued and growing use.
We've established four things:
You need to know the band exists.
You need to know their website to buy the music.
You need to know you like the music
Providing a few tracks for free does not harm the band (in business terms it is an acceptable value leak)
If enough bands are willing to license tracks for free internet radio play on condition that the band, the track, the album and the web site are stated before or after each radio or internet streaming play maybe new music can go around the entrenched barriers instead of taking a huge hit going through them.
The technology to sell music on the internet exists, and the technology to stream it freely exists. It seems the opportunity is there.
And yes you can get ogg down to 24-32kbits/sec if you hack an additional highpass filter into the player side, and give it a reasonably low Q.

I have been thinking a lot about the various radio models lately. As I (probably naively) see it, there are a few distinct groups in the Radio world: ClearChannel (in other words, commercial radio), Community Radio, Internet Radio, and Satellite Radio. I think ClearChannel is not going to help anyone but the already famous acts, so we may as well disregard them for this discussion. Satellite Radio is interesting, because advertising is a less-big deal, since users pay directly for the priviledge to listen. If it works, great. The radio companies will have a lot more range to choose what they want to play, and can subsudize the "indie" channels of music with more popular/quality/consistent stuff that people are paying the premium to get to, because they already know that they will like it. Community Radio has the basic problems of funding, because as it stands, royalties are expensive, and equipment is expensive, and they are competing against NPR for the already small niche of people that avoid commercial radio. Internet Radio has the possibility to really broaden people's horizons, but I think that licensing is a small part of the actual problem (except for the new DMCA-related rules that are fairly draconian for internet radio broadcasts...but that is a separate issue).
What is the hard problem is for people to find out about the not-well-known music that they would probably like if given a chance. But just playing a lot of cool indie music on a radio station isn't going to draw people in unless they are already predisposed to wanting indie music. Which really isn't very many people. To solve the discovery problem that is pointed out in the article, we need a better solution. The thing that I have been thinking about a lot lately is Amazon.com, and how they could utterly conquer the music downloads world if they decided to. Things like radio are nice and all, and napster and whatnot are great for getting things that you know you like, but how do you find out about stuff that you've not heard of? That is hard, unless you have friends with particularly good taste. But, the best feature of amazon.com is its recommendations system. I've bought enough from them that they make pretty damn good guesses at what I am going to like. Lately I've been using gnutella to download mp3s of bands that they suggest, then if I like it I buy the album. I bought 5 cds just last week. It works that well. All amazon needs to do is make a single or two a free download, the rest of the album like 25 or 50 cents a song, and then if you like them, buy the album from amazon, and you get a 50-100% deduction of what you already spent on the mp3s. Radio is great, but ultimately it is meant as a promotional tool for music. Maybe the Internet gives us a better model for finding out about new music. I'm all for streaming servers, but I don't think that they are actually going to be the savior or indie music. I'd rather see indie labels have streams of their catalog on their own websites....that way the legalities are a lot easier. They can even build in the (lack of?) compensation into the artists contracts directly, if it serves to benefit them.
For small bands, for artistic individuals..., posted 13 May 2002 at 01:01 UTC by sye »
I am afraid music is simply too great to be sold like any other professions for artistic souls in every individuals. I certainly hope that internet 'radio' broadcast will put those popular but not too great music out of their business. Time has proved again and again that people will sooner or later realize that true work of art is what makes our life worth living. My measurement of what composes a true work of art is that it has the power to turn whoever it touches into an artist himself for that moment. If measured that way, people will always want to hold on to real art. I will buy a hard copy of a book that really speaks to me even if i already have its entire content on my computer. I know a person who will buy several different renditions of the same concerto because he is knowledgable and very picky on the performers and conductors. Repetition only kills pseudo art or consumer media products. It will never kill true work of art.
